Does Jimmy John’s Have Gluten Free Bread?
Jimmy John’s offers freaky fast subs with all natural meats and locally sourced produce. This means: no artificial ingredients, nitrates, MSG, or hormones!
For a place that makes fresh French bread all day long, you might think you can only have meat with no bun. Jimmy John’s does not offer a gluten-free bread yet. However, they do have tasty Unwich wraps, which is the sandwich of your choice wrapped in lettuce. Make sure you follow this “how-to” guide on eating out though! If you unwrap that sucker first, it’s game over! They have a comprehensive allergen and gluten-free menu for all of your dietary needs.
How to order Gluten Free at Jimmy John’s?
As with any food intolerance, make sure to tell them you have an allergy. Ask them to change their gloves and to make your Unwich on the paper. It will save you from finding bread crumbs on the outside and hopefully avoid cross-contamination. You can also ask them to clean the blade on the meat cutter.
Watch out for the condiments! If they use a spatula to spread them on bread, you will want to avoid it. Follow these instructions when eating out to avoid cross-contamination.
Jimmy John’s Gluten Free Options:
- All meat, EXCEPT the tuna salad. The Tuna Salad has gluten!
- Cheese has gluten!
- All condiments
- All chips except Salt & Vinegar and BBQ
- The cookies are not gluten free.
My personal favorite is the #4 Turkey Tom Unwich with no Tom.
Menu Selection: 4/5. Unwich wraps are tasty, gluten free, and low in calories!
Service: 3/5. The self-proclaimed “freaky fast” sandwich shop has, in my experience, not been freaky fast.
Cleanliness: 4/5. Usually very clean.
Sensitivity: 3.5/5. Servers and kitchen are not sensitive to food limitations. I have to ask them to change their gloves and make the sandwich on paper. They do this without issue.
Atmosphere: 4/5. With a vibrant and colorful atmosphere, this is a fun lunch spot.
Cost: $$
As always, Jimmy John’s Gluten Free menu is subject to change. Please review the current menu and contact the restaurant with your specific dietary restrictions prior to your visit.
